主讲概况:陈伦锦,男,出生于1983年3月,福建人。2011博士毕业于美国加州大学洛杉矶分校 (空间物理专业)。现任美国德州大学达拉斯分校助理教授,空间等离子体博士生引导教师。曾获得美国地球物理协会(American Geophysical Union) 空间物理和高层大气物理优秀博士论文(Fred L Scarf奖,2012),国际无线电科学联盟青年科学奖(Young Scientist Award for Union Radio-Scientifique Internationale 2014),美国空军科学研究部青年科学家奖(2016)。 担任美国自然基金会NSF,NASA,和Air Force项目负责人。陈伦锦教授主要从事高层大层电磁波激发机制和传播,磁层物理,电磁波和带电粒子相互作用,辐射带动力学等领域的研究。2011~2013年美国加州大学洛杉矶分校博士后。美国地球物理协会会员,亚洲大洋洲地球科学学会会员。在国际学术刊物独立或合著发表了SCI检索论文80余篇,论文被引用次数1300多次。并多次在国际大会做特邀报告。

主讲内容:Our upper atmosphere (>1000 km above the Earth’s surface) is made of ionized gases also known as plasma. Such space plasma environment is a zoo of various natural and man-made electromagnetic waves. This talk reviews plasma waves ranging from Hz to MHz, whose have different generation origins and different propagation characteristics. FDTD is applied for the first time to simulate the propagation of a specific space plasma wave, “equatorial noise”, in the inhomogeneous space plasma (with spatial variation of plasma density and background magnetic field). Its propagation characteristics is discussed for the following three cases, (1) when the wave frequency is near proton gyrofrequency, (2) when the wave frequency is near lower hybrid resonant frequency, and (3) when the wave encounters a plasmapause (the region with sharp variation in plasma density).
